Food for Hydration

Hydration is one of the most important aspects of any skin care regime, however, many people spend an extensive amount of time and money on their external body and skin and often neglect internal hydration. This plays a huge role in having good skin and here at Skin Physics, we like to promote healthy ways to improve your skin.

Implementing the consumption of water-dense foods can help in keeping you hydrated all day inside and out!

WATERMELON

Not only is watermelon full of electrolytes and vitamins but it is also the perfect source for hydration. Watermelon is made up of approximately 92% water so next time you're looking for a way to stay hydrated and satisfy your hunger reach for this tasty snack. In saying this watermelon is also high in sugar so consume in moderation.

STRAWBERRIES

Much like watermelon strawberries are made up of approximately 92% water making them an equally hydrating option. Strawberries are also very high in anti-oxidants, which are great for reducing inflammation and redness in the skin. Next time you're choosing your fruit salad mix or adding fruit to yogurt your skin will thank you for choosing strawberries.

CELERY

With an even higher water content level of 95% celery is sure to keep you and your skin hydrated. Celery is also a natural anti-inflammatory, so it helps to target puffiness, acne prone skin, and redness. Along with its anti-inflammatory properties, this vegetable is also packed full of vitamins which help your immune system along with promoting good bone and heart health.

CUCUMBER

Again, like celery, cucumber has a 95% water content level making it equally as good for hydration. Cucumber contains vitamin C which can help to soothe your skin, reduce irritation, inflammation and decrease water retention. Cucumber is also very low calorie, just like celery you will want to reach for this as a savory crunchy snack and your skin will reap the benefits.

Make sure to eat with your skins hydration in mind!
