Do you struggle with everyday skincare routines or find it hard to introduce new products and regimes? Don't worry you are not alone! Here are some simple yet effective changes you can make to your everyday routine for better skin.
Sleep on silk
We all need our beauty sleep!
Sleeping on silk has a million and one benefits for your skin, apart from the fact that it is incredibly soft and silky to the touch silk is naturally hypoallergenic along with its ability to repel dust mites it is an allergy sufferer essential. Silk is also great for sensitive scalps and people who suffer from psoriasis, alopecia, acne or even those going through chemotherapy. Silk is also great for retaining moisture within your skin and maintaining your bodies nature temperature.
Our friends over at The Silk Effect say “Dermatologists, plastic surgeons and beauty experts recommend sleeping on a silk pillowcase to reduce sleep creases and fine lines as well as help retain moisture in your skin. Wearing a silk eye mask will do all of this, concentrating on the eye area, as well as helping reduce eye puffiness”
You can shop their beautiful range of 100% mulberry silk pillow cases and eye masks here.
Simplify your skin care routine
Today there are too many new products and remedies to keep up with, making your everyday choices too overwhelming and often difficult to instill an everyday skin care routine that works for you. Here at Skin Physics we believe in keeping your skin care routine simple yet effective.
Don’t exfoliate more than once a week, exfoliators are abrasive and can often take off more skin than needed and damage the natural oil production needed to keep your skin moisturised and plump. Simply double wash your skin morning and night, remembering to make sure all makeup is removed before bed. We recommend the Dragons Blood 3-in-1 Advanced Treatment Cleanser for fresh and clean skin all the time. Follow this with your favourite Skin Physics moisturiser, the Dragons Blood Facial Sculpting Gel is perfect for ultimate day time hydration and the Dragons Blood Ultra Plumping Night Cream is best to rejuvenate your skin whilst you sleep.
Simple, quick and effective to suit your busy lifestyles!
Use a primer
Many people skip out on priming their skin before applying makeup in the morning, however primers are extremely effective in keeping your skin soft and supple. Primers create a barrier between your skin and the external environment (including makeup), with pollution and other free radicals within the atmosphere make sure to protect your skin with a good primer, it’s also a bonus if you find one with SPF to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Primers are also good for the skins surface to allow for smooth makeup application and an even skin tone.
Swim in salt water
The ocean is packed full of minerals such as magnesium, calcium and potassium all which aid in treating various skin conditions such as psoriasis and acne. The heavy salt content in the ocean also deeply cleanses pores, fights bacteria and balance oils not only on your face but all over your body. Salt water is also suggested to have healing properties and can benefit cuts and scares on the skins surface.
Don’t worry if you don’t live near the water or its simply too cold to swim, just add 2 teaspoons of salt to one glass of water and splash onto your face making sure to avoid the eye area. You can even purchase salt water face mists to keep you refreshed all day long!
Drink more water
Yes, we have mentioned this one more than once, but it is so important for your skin to stay hydrated all day and night! Water will aid in keeping your skin moisturised and is best to accompany your anti-ageing routine for plump and healthy looking skin.
